Attempt #2

August 5th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

Well I started another batch of beer. Round one ended up a failure as somewhere along the line it became infected with something porter_day2or other and ended up tasting like rubbing alcohol (a sign the beer is infected I’m told). That was a honey kolsch that Bryan and I brewed up in his keggle. This batch is “Craig’s Portside Porter” and touts an original gravity of 1.056-1.060 and a final gravity of 1.015-1.020 vs. the honey kolsch coming in at an O.G. of 1.045-1.050 and a F.G. of 1.014-1.017.  This was also my first attempt at brewing indoors in a big pot. This batch is on it’s second day in the first 6 gallon carboy. It appears to be pretty active already. I’m pumped man.
